June Smith (73) from South Molton in North Devon has always enjoyed cycling, but is set to take this to a whole new level as she learns how to cycle in a Velodrome taught by world class professionals. The steep sided 45 degree turns would certainly impress the young cyclists she trains in local schools.

The ultimate thrill for me! I can't believe I did it. The Track was awesome at first sight, with it's steep banking at either end. My coach, Peter, was encouraging and with that and his enthusiasm, I got some way up that incline and started to ENJOY the speed generated by the fixed wheel - two experienced veteran trackies joined me and there I was, steaming round the hallowed ground used by Sir Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton - both Gold Medallists. I'm still in a whirl the day after - just thinking about the wonder of it all - so thank you Stannah - made one old lady young again after giving me the chance to achieve something I never thought possible.
The photographer was superb. Thanks to all of you for helping to get me on the'boards' June Smith (a happy lass ! )
